FRESH WHARF SHAREHOLDERS’ MEETING

Fresh Wharf shareholders were invited on site on Saturday 6th July. It was a good turn out for a very warm day. The shareholders were given a presentation by Managing Director Flavia Jokic and then enjoyed lunch provided by Limoncello Catering. The presentation included an update on the proposed residential development, a snapshot of the housing market in East London and financial perspectives and strategy for all Fresh Wharf companies. Later shareholders were given a walking tour of the site.

A COAT OF PAINT

Several units on our northern site have recently received a coat of paint in our ’Fresh Wharf blue’ colour. This refurbishment is part of a series of enhancements we are making to the northern site which also include new signage and improved landscaping, making the environnment better for tenants and visitors.

Fresh Wharf welcomes St Pancras Cruising Club

The boat community at Fresh Wharf was pleased to welcome St Pancras Cruising Club for the annual barbecue on the shores of the River Roding.

Strong winds on the Thames prevented the narrow boats from completing the river journey to Barking, so club members moored up at Limehouse and continued by public transport to our site.

Residents and guests enjoyed an afternoon of barbecue treats and Fresh Wharf would like to thank all those who participated and to the Cruising Club for their very welcome attendance.

Fresh Wharf filming location

Fresh Wharf has been pleased to welcome two different film crews on to the estate in recent weeks. First up was emerging artist and MOBO winner Rachel Kerr whose video was shot against a backdrop of industrial units that appealed to her producers. Next came the Alesha Street Dance Stars, filmed for BBC Manchester. Please contact the management team at Fresh Wharf if you are interested in using our premises for your next production.

Appointment of moorings manager

Fresh Wharf Estates is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul McNeil and Claire Barnett to the role of moorings manager. Paul and Claire have been resident on the moorings for several years and will work as a team. They will liaise with Fresh Wharf on all aspects of the moorings including new arrivals, rent collection, the physical environment and community matters. They will replace Bill Blaik who leaves us at the end of March.

Fresh Wharf Cafe

Fresh Wharf Estates would like to welcome the Lear family as the new managers of our on-site cafe.
Maxine, Kayleigh and Peter will open the cafe doors again on Tuesday 12 February.
They will be serving cooked breakfasts and hot and cold meals including take away from 6am Monday to Friday.
We do hope that tenants, visitors and residents will support them.

Barking and Dagenham College Awards

Fresh Wharf Estates was pleased to sponsor a ‘silver’ category in the annual excellence awards at Barking and Dagenham College. The prize went to a student who had excelled in the Construction and Built Environment Category. Flavia Jokic for Fresh Wharf Estates presented the prize to the successful student Deimante Auksoriute at a ceremony in the Broadway Theatre, Barking. Deimante is interested in studying architecture and she recently visited Fresh Wharf to look at the development proposals for the site.
